Comment: The Argyll Hotel is Dunoon's oldest landmark. A haven for rich Glaswegians it became a home in recent Cold War years to Americans who were stationed at the Holy Loch. It continues today as a well run and happy environment.

Comment: Connel Bridge crosses the entrance to Loch Etive. Opened in 1903 as a rail bridge it is now just for vehicles. It straddles the Falls of Lora, where the tidal waters pass over an underwater cliff.

Comment: Dunoon Castle, well technically Castle House. The original Castle on the mound above the pier was abandoned in 1650. What remained of the stone was used to build the Castle House in 1822.
